I thought it might be nice to document my improvement in using my new camera. Hopefully I'll improve....but if not I'll have 52 photos to look at a year from now. One photo a week. Someone or something in my home or yard or life that strikes me ~ for whatever reason.

Inspired Again

I got a new camera for Christmas. At this point I don't know a whole lot about it....except that it's much "better" than my old camera. My husband said so. I will learn why!

This is my new camera.

I thought it might be nice to document my improvement in using this camera. Hopefully I'll improve....but if not I'll have 52 photos to look at a year from now. One photo a week. Someone or something in my home or yard or life that strikes me ~ for whatever reason.

I hope to post the photo on Saturdays or Sundays.

I've been thinking about doing this since I got the camera and was inspired by Toni at Waking Up in Bavaria. She takes amazing photos and shares them on her blog. She decided to start another blog called One Hundred Photos. You can read why she started it here.

I have no real photo taking knowledge ~ point & shoot, that's me! But learning more about it and taking good photos is on my "bucket list". (Yes, daughters, I've started one of those.)

Re: learning more. I think I'll take a look at composition first. Right now all the word says to me is: "How I spent my summer vacation" is a good way to start a composition.

  2. Someday I hope to get a camera!!! Yours looks great! I have to use my cell phone for my camera. That is why my blog isn't as crisp looking as others, but I hope people like it anyways. Your camera will become your best tool I'm sure.

  4. I took an online photography class from my daughter last year to try and improve my photography. My husband gave me his old digital camera and I've had fun trying to learn how to adjust my camera and use the different lenses. I've taken a few pictures that I love but still have a long way to go. Good luck and keep practicing.
