I thought it might be nice to document my improvement in using my new camera. Hopefully I'll improve....but if not I'll have 52 photos to look at a year from now. One photo a week. Someone or something in my home or yard or life that strikes me ~ for whatever reason.

Look 2
Tossed Aside
Charlotte likes to play with this hat.
When she's finished playing with it, I toss it up on top of the stack of quilts on my chest of drawers ~ until next time.
Lovely composition! You have a natural eye for it. There is one improvement that you could have made in the shot set-up. In the upper right-hand corner you have a "hot spot" where the light source has blown out your highlights. Draping some white fabric over the light source would have muted it for you. Also a artfully placed white reflector (such as white cardboard) would bounce some light back into the shadow areas.
I certainly am no photography expert and gained some knowledge from the previous comment. I think this picture would be even more beautiful in a sepia tone. Or, I bet your camera would let you add a slight color to the flowers on the hat. Wouldn't that be cool!
That's a great hat! I bet Charlotte looks adorable wearing it. :) This is a lovely photo. I love quilts. Very pretty. Have a great day!
